We want to cordially invite you and your family to come out for the 2019 Wrestling Open House BBQ on Saturday, August 31st. This annual event has developed into a special weekend for all wrestling fans in and around our area. Fans are welcome to join us on Friday, August 30th at the Lejeune Hall Wrestling Complex as we will offer our guests unrestricted access to the Navy-Marine Corps RTC training session. Fans are welcome to join us for this practice and participate in a tour of the renovated facility thanks in large part to the generous support of Dr. James Gonzales, ’71 and other distinguished alumni and supporters. Saturday’s event will kick off at 9:00am with the “Morton Mile/25K Fund Raiser”. The Morton Mile is an annual event and families are welcome to follow the team along their route from the USNA “Yard” to the “Morton Hill”. Once on “The Hill” families will enjoy light refreshments, social activity, fun and games hosted by the TAD Ensigns/2nd Lts. ‘19. This year’s Morton Mile again gives us an amazing opportunity to raise 1/5 of our annual RTC Training Budget due to the generous matching gift commitment from the Hisey family and others. This gift challenges you, our most important and critical supporters to raise the funds that will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000! All proceeds go to offset a portion of RTC operational costs. Costs included travel, competition, and training partners associated with the Navy-Marine Corps RTC. This year the Navy Marine Corps RTC invested $20,000 in qualified Midshipmen members to train and compete with the U.S National Team in Colorado Springs, CO. In addition, all donations to the NMCRTC 501(c)3 are tax deductible for the current tax year. Please join us to support this incredible opportunity that is a critical link to keeping the wrestling tradition strong in Annapolis!
